I love hats! I don't often wear them, especially cocktail hats. I think cocktail hats would look great on a night out but I'm just not brave enough! I think I love hats so much because they hold so much design potential.. and because they remind me of the time when women wouldn't dream of leaving the house without a hat on.

I've been a fan of Stephen Jones for ages-look at how phenomenal these hats are! I love this season's Covent Garden collection because I spent so much time in Covent Garden when I first moved to London. Also, love the hat that looks like the Stephen Jones shop front!

Boy's Birthdays

It's the boy's birthday in about 2 weeks and I am starting to have trouble figuring out what to buy him! I found a brilliant antiques market with lots of leather bags and portfolios and shoes and jewelry.. I wanted to get him a little leather journal because he's a writer but it just doesn't seem right.






Look at all the old golf clubs and suitcases with their battered leather. I spent ages looking in all the suitcases because there were so many curious things inside like photos, letters and silver cigarette cases..
I'm still stuck on the present problem though! I'm hitting Etsy with optimism..

Wanted

I went to see 'Wanted' on Wednesday, I'd been haunted by the idea of both Angelina and James McAvoy in an impossible action flick... mmm. So there was no way I could be disappointed. But I was driving Rosie mad through the film with my running commentary of either 'that's ABSURD!' or 'drooooool' and for her part she kept laughing really loud. People actually turned around to glare.
-is that really his body?!

I would describe this movie as 'Shoot 'em up' meets 'Mousetrap' and if you aren't enamored of either Angelina or James I wouldn't recommend it. The only thing it left us pondering after leaving the cinema is whether we'd rather be James or Ange in the kiss scene...

Why I love my phone: Part 1

It's not because Orange consistently over charges me every month.. It is a little bit because I have call ID and can ignore phone calls from work.. But mostly it's because the 2.0 MegaPixel camera is just unfocused enough that I look good in all my phone photos.
